Suction Hydraulic Filter – Key Features

Suction filters are installed upstream of the pump and protect it from contamination while also providing additional flow diffusion to the pump's suction line. Some models are equipped with an additional magnetic column to capture iron particles and are usually positioned below the level of the suction fluid to utilize the fluid’s piezometric suction and reduce the risk of cavitation. There are two types of suction filters:

• Submerged suction filter (so-called strainer) – a simple filter element attached to the suction pipe.
• Tank wall-mounted suction filter – equipped with a shut-off valve that allows filter element replacement without the risk of oil leakage from the tank.
