Rod seals
Rod Seals
Rod seals are components used in various glands mounted in hydraulic cylinders to ensure tightness and eliminate fluid leaks. They are used to seal the gaps between moving or stationary parts of the rod and the piston mounted in the cylindrical tube.
Which rod seal should you choose?
Polyurethane rod seals are known for their high resistance to abrasion and good elasticity. They are effective in ensuring tightness even under high pressure and intense motion conditions. Moreover, polyurethane also has good chemical resistance, making it a popular choice in applications where aggressive environments are present.
NBR gland seals, available in the form of a ring or in a 7-piece construction (consisting of several layers), are characterized by their good resistance to oils, lubricants, and fuels. Therefore, they are often used in applications where there is contact with aggressive chemical substances. Their flexibility and resilience enable effective sealing, preventing fluid leaks.
Our 3-piece seals made from NBR, fabric, and POM are commonly used in the industry, especially in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Combined with fabric and polyoxymethylene, NBR provides mechanical strength and resistance to chemical environments, which translates into the long-lasting and effective operation of the seal.
Rod seals are used to ensure safety and reliability in various hydraulic cylinders used in industrial machinery systems, where effective sealing of rod and elimination of fluid leaks are necessary. By appropriately selecting the sealing material, it is possible to tailor the seal to specific application requirements and working conditions, contributing to the efficient operation of hydraulic, pneumatic, and other industrial devices.
