O-RING / O-RING ORFS orings
O-Ring Seals
O-rings, also known as O-ring seals, are among the most popular and versatile technical seals used in various industrial applications. They are flexible rings made from various materials that ensure sealing between two sets, preventing leaks of fluids or gases.
A flat O-ring can be rubber, silicone, or metal. Its flat shape allows for effective sealing of the surface on which it is mounted. Flat O-rings are mainly used in places where it is necessary to seal two flat surfaces, such as connections between machine parts, housings, covers, or tanks.
Rubber O-ring
The rubber O-ring is widely used in many industries due to its good flexibility, chemical resistance, and easy availability. These O-rings are made from various types of rubbers, most commonly NBR (nitrile rubber). A rubber O-ring made of nitrile rubber (NBR) is highly resistant to oils, fuels, and lubricants, making it ideal for use in the industry where various hydraulic fluids are present. Additionally, it is characterized by good abrasion resistance and low production costs, making it a popular choice in many applications. Rubber O-rings can be used in various working conditions, such as low and high temperatures, aggressive chemical environments, or high pressures.
Silicone O-ring
The silicone O-ring is valued for its excellent resistance to extreme temperatures and chemical stability. It features a wide operating temperature range, making it an ideal choice for many applications, especially where flexibility is required under various conditions. A high-temperature O-ring can operate in temperatures ranging from -60°C to over 200°C, making it an ideal solution for applications requiring operation in extreme conditions. Silicone O-rings are also resistant to many chemical substances, including some acids, salts, oils, and organic solvents.
Metal O-ring
A metal O-ring is made from high-quality metal materials, such as stainless steel or brass. The construction of such a seal is based on solid materials, which are not only highly mechanically strong but also resistant to extreme working conditions. A metal O-ring can operate in extreme conditions, both in terms of temperature and pressure. As such, it is commonly used in applications requiring high resistance to extreme working conditions, such as high temperatures, intense mechanical loads, or high working pressure. Made from solid metal materials, our O-rings are resistant to corrosion, wear, and mechanical damage, allowing them to function for a long time without needing replacement. They provide stable and effective sealing, translating into reliable operation of hydraulic and pneumatic systems in which they are used.
Square O-ring (Quad Rings)
Thanks to its cross-section, a square O-ring offers more even pressure distribution in gaps, which translates to better fitting to the sealing surfaces. Additionally, such a design allows for greater stability during movement, making the square cross-section O-ring often used in applications where a tight and stable seal is required. Quad rings also exhibit higher durability and resistance compared to traditional O-rings. They provide greater resistance to wear, stretching, and deformation, which means they are more resistant to extreme working conditions and maintain their sealing properties longer.
X-ring Seals
X-ring seals, characterized by an "X" shaped cross-section, provide even pressure distribution and better sealing compared to traditional O-rings. Thanks to their special shape, X-rings allow for even pressure distribution inside the gap, resulting in better sealing. X-rings are made from high-quality materials that provide them with high durability and resistance to abrasion. As such, they are an ideal solution for applications requiring intensive use and extreme working conditions.
Where are O-rings used?
Technical sealing O-rings are widely used in many industries, such as automotive, aerospace, petrochemical, food, and medical industries. They serve to ensure sealing and stability in various elements and systems, such as pumps, valves, engines, hydraulic or pneumatic systems, preventing leaks of fluids, gases, or air, and enabling safe and efficient operation of machines and devices. Due to their versatility, durability, and reliability, O-ring seals are an integral part of many production processes across different industry sectors.
