Hydraulic valves
Hydraulic valves
Hydraulic valves are responsible for controlling pressure and flow rate in hydraulic power systems. Proper valve selection and adjustment have a direct impact on operational safety, actuator stability and the energy efficiency of the entire system.
Classification of hydraulic valves
Hydraulic valves can be divided into pressure control valves, flow control valves and shut-off valves. Each of these groups performs a different function in regulating the operating parameters of a high-pressure installation.
Main types of hydraulic valves
- Relief valves: protect the system against overload by limiting maximum working pressure.
- Check valves: allow oil flow in only one direction. Pilot-operated versions, known as hydraulic lock valves, allow rigid locking of the actuator.
- Throttle check valves: used to control cylinder speed by throttling the outlet flow in a controlled way.
- Overcenter valves: control load lowering and prevent uncontrolled actuator movement caused by gravity or external forces.
Adjustment precision and energy efficiency
The accuracy of hydraulic valve adjustment affects machine stability, reduction of energy losses and lower oil heating. Proper valve configuration directly contributes to lower operating costs and longer service life of hydraulic components.
