Hydraulic gear motors
Hydraulic Gear Motors
Hydraulic gear motors convert hydraulic energy into mechanical energy through rotational motion. They are characterized by high rotational speeds and good starting torque, which ensures smooth operation even under challenging conditions. Their advantages include simple construction and low noise levels. They are ideal wherever high torque is needed with relatively low oil flow.
Construction and Applications of Hydraulic Gear Motors
Hydraulic gear motors use a gear mechanism to generate rotational motion driven by supplied hydraulic fluid. The rotational motion from the gears is transmitted to the output shaft. The motor housing contains inlet and outlet ports that allow hydraulic fluid to enter and exit the motor.
Thanks to their design, hydraulic gear motors enable efficient energy transfer in the form of torque, making them perfect for systems requiring high power in compact sizes. Typical rotational speeds range from 500 to 10,000 rpm, and the maximum operating pressure can reach 300 bar. The displacement volume of these motors ranges from 1 to 200 cm3/rev, allowing a wide range of applications—from fans to mobile equipment drives.
These motors are also known for their high reliability and ease of maintenance, which helps reduce operating costs. Additionally, their capability to work in extreme conditions makes them widely used in machines operating in tough terrains and low temperatures.
