Hydraulic and industrial hoses and fittings
Hydraulic hoses and fittings
Hydraulic hoses are flexible high-pressure lines used to transfer power in hydraulic systems. Their construction is multi-layered, and the number of steel braids directly affects working pressure resistance and burst pressure strength.
Hydraulic hose standards
The minimum technical parameters of hydraulic hoses are defined by European standards that classify hoses according to construction and application.
- EN 853: types 1SN and 2SN, meaning single- and double-braided hoses.
- EN 857: types 1SC and 2SC, meaning compact hoses with a smaller bend radius.
- EN 856: types 4SP and 4SH, meaning multi-spiral hoses for high-pressure applications.
The correct hose type depends on working pressure, temperature, the medium used and the nature of pulsation in the system.
Hydraulic hose fittings
Hose ends and crimp sleeves must be precisely matched to the type and construction of the hose. No-skive systems allow fittings to be assembled without removing the outer cover on selected hose types. In high-pressure applications with strong pulsation, interlock systems are used to provide a high level of connection safety.
Safety and service life
To maintain safety, it is necessary to observe the service life of hydraulic hose assemblies and avoid twisting the hose during installation. Incorrect installation can reduce the mechanical strength of the hose and increase the risk of system failure.
