Directional valves and flow dividers
Hydraulic flow dividers and directional control valves
Energy distribution in a hydraulic system is carried out by hydraulic directional control valves and flow dividers. These components control flow direction, actuator movement sequence and the stability of operating parameters. Proper component selection directly affects system efficiency, safety and overall energy performance.
Hydraulic directional control valves
Directional control valves operated manually, electrically, pneumatically or hydraulically direct oil flow to the appropriate chambers of hydraulic cylinders or motors. In modern designs, spool-type construction is widely used, where precise fit between the spool and body reduces internal leakage and improves system efficiency.
Flow dividers
Flow dividers make it possible to split one supply flow into several equal or proportional parts. Versions with self-compensation ensure even flow division regardless of load differences between actuators, which is important for synchronizing two cylinders, for example in two-post lifts.
Valve-type dividers can operate both in flow dividing and flow combining mode, providing high operating precision under properly selected working conditions.
Component types
| Monoblock valve | Compact control in agricultural and working machines | Manual, cable, joystick |
| Sectional valve | Expandable with additional functions | Manual, electric ON/OFF, proportional |
| Flow divider | Actuator synchronization | Automatic hydromechanical |
| Spool / cartridge valve | Integration in valve blocks | Electric DC/AC, proportional |
Proportional valves and Load Sensing
The use of proportional valves allows smooth control of actuator speed. Combined with a Load Sensing system, this helps reduce energy losses, limit oil heating and improve machine dynamics. This results in higher operating efficiency and longer service life of hydraulic components.
